Awareness of the Camp's needs has led to great successes as
well. This summer we were informed that the Camp, fearing a summer of rolling blackouts,
was in desperate need of a backup generator but had no funds to buy one. Hearing
this, one of the Fund's directors was able to make a call to the CEO of a major electrical
contractor he knew who ended up contributing a refurbished diesel generator and trailer
to camp -- a $30,000 value! (Our great thanks to the kindness of Jim Ryley and Cupertino Electric,
and to Jim Dreschler for his assistance in the gift). Similarly,
Doug Aitken is mobilizing a group of alums with construction experience to come up
with a plan to refurbish the Lodge (targeting the exterior next summer and the interior
the following year). Backup Generator
